At the beginning of 2023, a book was published by one of the young researchers in the project, Martin Šorm. His book Podkoní, žák a smrt. Rozpory a vícehlasy v české poezii 15. století is based on his dissertation defended in 2021 and deals with the dialectics of medieval sewing disputes in Old Czech literature, especially from the Hussite period.
This book aims to understand the poem The Stableman and the Student in the literary field of the late Middle Ages. The author therefore compares the poem with other dialogical compositions from the late 14th century, with poetry from the Hussite Wars and with poems about death. The author presents the Old Bohemian dialogical poems from the research perspective on medieval literary reception (manuscript context and print publication portfolios) and literary-historical anthropology, showing the surviving texts’ interrelationships and likely contemporary functions and effects.
